Search for the domain name you want in the Host Dada Client Area, add it to your cart and check out. Your new domain is registered straight away and set to use the Host Dada nameservers, ready for hosting and email.
Before you start
- Have two or three name ideas ready in case your first choice is taken.
- Make sure the contact details on your account are correct. They become the registered owner (registrant) details for the domain, and the owner email address is where security and renewal messages go.
- New to Host Dada? You can create your account during checkout.
Step-by-step
- Open the domain search. Go to Register a New Domain. If you're already logged in, you can also choose Domains → Register a New Domain in the Client Area.
-
Search for your name. Type the domain you want, for example
yourbusiness.co.uk, and click Search.
Type the domain you want and click Search.
- Add it to your cart. If the name is available, click Add to Cart. The Suggested Domains list underneath shows other extensions and alternatives if your first choice is taken.
- Choose the registration period. On the next screen, pick how many years to register for. Registering for longer protects the name and means fewer renewals to remember.
- Add hosting or email if you need it. You can add a hosting or email plan to the same order, or leave the domain on its own and add services later.
- Check out. Review the cart, accept the terms and pay. You'll get an order confirmation by email, and the domain appears under Domains → My Domains once registration completes.
.co.uk and .com (and .uk if it's free) so nobody else can pick up a lookalike of your business name. What happens after you register
- Nameservers: new domains use the Host Dada nameservers (
ns1.kandekore.nettons4.kandekore.net), so they work with Host Dada hosting and email without any extra setup. - Auto-renew: auto-renew is switched on by default, and we email reminders 30 days and 7 days before the renewal date. See Renew a domain and turn on auto-renew.
- .uk domains: Nominet, the .uk registry, checks the owner details on new registrations. If it can't verify them automatically it may ask for confirmation, so make sure your name and address are accurate.
you@yourbusiness.co.uk) as the owner address. If the domain ever lapses, that mailbox stops working too and you can't receive the messages needed to recover it. A personal or separate business address is safer.Troubleshooting
The name I want shows as taken
Someone else already owns it. Try a different extension, add a word such as your town or trade, or use a hyphen. If it's your old domain and it expired recently, open a ticket. It may still be recoverable from its previous registrar.
"Contact Support to Purchase" appears instead of Add to Cart
Some extensions need extra checks or can't be ordered online. Open a ticket with the domain you want and we'll tell you what's needed.
My domain doesn't show a website yet
A domain on its own doesn't include a website. Add hosting, then point the domain at it. See Add a website or domain to your hosting package.
