Thinking of moving your website from Wix? Here's the honest answer: a Wix site can't be exported and run anywhere else, so it has to be rebuilt. Your domain, email, product list and contacts can all be moved, though, and this guide shows you exactly what comes with you and what doesn't.
Why can't a Wix site be moved?
Wix is a closed platform. Your pages are built with Wix's own technology and only run on Wix's servers. Wix confirms this in its own help article, Exporting or embedding your Wix site elsewhere. There's no download button that gives you a working copy of the site.

Before you start
- A Host Dada hosting package. WordPress hosting is the closest match for most Wix sites.
- Keep your Wix plan running until the new site is live. Your Wix site stays online until you change the domain's DNS, so visitors keep seeing it while you rebuild.
How to move from Wix to Host Dada
- List your pages. Note every page, its address (for example
/about-us) and your menu order. Keeping the same addresses helps your Google rankings. - Save your content. Copy each page's text into a document. Download your images and files from the Wix Media Manager.
- Export your data. If you have a shop, export your products to CSV. Export your contacts too. Download any order history or invoices you need to keep.
- Install WordPress on Host Dada. See Install WordPress. Choose a theme close to your current look.
- Rebuild your pages. Recreate each page with your saved text and images. For a shop, install WooCommerce and import your product CSV. See WooCommerce on Host Dada.

- Move your email first, if you have it. Create your mailboxes on Host Dada or Microsoft 365, and copy old messages across.

Troubleshooting
Can't I download my Wix site with a website copier?
Tools that save a website give you a static snapshot that's hard to edit, and Wix pages rely heavily on scripts, so the copy often won't display properly. Rebuilding gives you a site you can actually update.
My images are blurry or the wrong size
Download the original files from the Media Manager rather than saving them from your live pages, which are resized for display.
Will I lose my Google rankings?
Not if you keep the same page addresses where possible and redirect any that change. Expect a short settling period while Google re-reads your site.
