An IPS TAG is a way of Nominet (the not-for-profit company that governs the .uk domain names) giving control of a domain name to a certain company. For example, the domain name my-awesome-site.co.uk currently has the IPS TAG of GODADDY. If you want to move your domain name to another provider you would need to change the IPS TAG to that of your new provider.
Updating your IPS Tag to transfer your domain to HostDada will depend upon the current registrar used. Below are the steps you will need to follow for some of the major companies.

Login to your 123 Reg Control Panel. In the Domain names section, select the relevant domain name in the drop-down list and click on the Manage button.

Click on the IPS Tag option.

This will take you to the Change IPS Tag page. Enter the new TAG in the space provided and then click on the Change IPS TAG Now button.
Go Daddy
The process for transferring a domain name registered with GoDaddy to another registrar is not hard, but it does take time. You'll complete some steps with GoDaddy and some steps with the new registrar. The total process can take up to 10 days to complete.

- Verify contact information: Verify that the administrator's contact information for the domain is correct (or registrant's email for .au domains). To review and edit your contact information, see Change domain contact information on the go daddy website.
- Unlock your domain
- Cancel Protected registration: If the domain has Protected Registration, you'll need to cancel it. For more information, see Cancel Protected Registration on the go daddy website.

Complete the following steps with Us
- Get an authorization code: Check with us to see if you need an authorization code (EPP code).
- Initiate the transfer
Check the domain's administrator's email
- Accept or deny the transfer: GoDaddy will email you instructions to complete the transfer. If you do not accept or deny the transfer request within five days, GoDaddy will automatically accept the transfer for you.
- Receive confirmation: GoDaddy will email you a confirmation when the transfer is complete.
